Herzing University was initially established in 1965 as the Electronic Computing Institute of Milwaukee, providing hands-on training in the emerging field of computers. In 1970, the name was changed to Herzing Institute and the organization began to grow organically as well as through the acquisition of other institutions. Schools joining the institution included the Wisconsin School of Electronics in Madison, Wisconsin with a history dating back to 1948. By 1996 having diversified curriculum, our name changed to Herzing College and had grown to include campuses in eight states as well as in Canada. The addition of graduate programs in 2009 led to the school's current name, Herzing University and in 2015 the University became a nonprofit institution. We now operate nine campuses in seven states with an online division.
