Charitable Event - Diaper Drive

Nearly 1 in 3 families struggle with diaper need in America. What is diaper need? The inability to afford and provide clean diapers for children. Beyond the negative health impacts on children of wearing diapers for too long, such as diaper rash and urinary tract infections, families face broader financial and social impacts related to diaper need. Diapers are expensive and compete with families' need to pay for healthy food, safe housing, childcare, healthcare, education, and more. For example, childcare providers require that a full day's supply of diapers be dropped off every day with a child who is still in diapers. When a family cannot afford this, they then have to make the difficult decision of one parent or other adult family member taking the day off work (often unpaid) or missing school, furthering the family's financial hardship.

So, how can you help? Donate diapers to the diaper drive at the WPHA Conference this year! All diapers donated will be distributed to WPHA Board Regional Representatives to be distributed to a local organization or agency in their region in need of diapers. Please keep in mind that there is a need for diapers of all sizes, and often organizations and agencies do not receive the larger sizes they need. Don't have room to bring diapers with you to the conference? Feel free to donate gift cards to Target or Walmart instead, which will then be used to purchase additional diapers.
