About the Speaker:

Mandy Potapenko

Mandy Potapenko joined as Director of the Milwaukee Community Justice Council in June of 2015 after over 10 years of diverse, criminal justice, and community-relations work. Mandy’s adept skill set in relationship building and collaborative problem-solving makes her uniquely effective in her role. As Milwaukee County’s CJCC Director, Mandy is responsible for directing and facilitating the efforts of the Council in planning and implementing system-wide improvement in Milwaukee County’s criminal justice system.

Prior to joining the MCJC, from 2012-2015, Mandy served the 32 neighborhoods of Milwaukee Police District 3 as the Community Prosecution Unit Coordinator (CPUC) and Team Lead at Safe & Sound. CPUCs serve as civilian-liaisons within Milwaukee Police Department district stations to support collaborative, strategic initiatives, neighborhood problem-solving and nuisance abatement efforts. Mandy also has four years of experience as a case manager in Milwaukee County's Pretrial Services community supervision program and completed a two-year internship in Milwaukee County's restraining order clinic.

Mandy is a Wisconsin native and graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she earned her BA in Women’s Studies and Psychology.
