Save the Date & Register Today - April 2nd – National Public Health Week Policy Symposium - Madison!

WPHA, in partnership with the "Wisconsin State Team" supported by the County Health Rankings and Roadmaps, invites you to save the date for an event in celebration of National Public Health Week on April 2nd at the Madison Club in Madison. We are looking to leverage capacity building efforts alongside other statewide efforts to support collective progress toward advancing health equity. This event will increase awareness, knowledge, and skills for advocacy and focus on the importance of policy, systems, and environmental changes to advance public health. Legislative meet and greets may be planned. More information and details to come. The Wisconsin State Team is a variety of organizations working together with support from the County Health Rankings and Roadmaps and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

This event is free but will be capped at 100 attendees. Schedule subject to change.

Tentative Schedule:

11:00-12:00 - Lunch

12:00-12:30 - Dr. Sheri Johnson, UW Population Health Institute/County Health Rankings and Roadmaps

12:30-2:00 - Priority Sessions featuring:

Sue Kunferman, Wood County Health Department

Paula Tran Inzeo, UW Population Health Institute, MATCH Program

Charles Warzecha, WI Department of Health Services

2:00-2:30 - Julie Willems Van Dijk, WI Department of Health Services


  • Visit with your Legislator! - Work with the WPHA Government Affairs team to schedule a meeting with your legislator - Get to know them, or simply introduce yourself! * Must register by March 26th to schedule a meeting for your legislator
  • Take some time to draft your action plan for communicating with your legislator.
