Federal policymakers need to stand up for Wisconsin health by fighting climate change

Despite the rising health and economic burdens of climate change in our communities, the Trump administration has chosen to dismantle the Clean Power Plan, which tackles the root cause of these health issues by planning to reduce carbon pollution by 32 percent from the U.S. power sector by 2030, and also reducing other harmful pollutants that cause respiratory and cardiovascular disease.   It is vital that Members of Congress and the administration prioritize the health of Wisconsin and oppose efforts to roll back the Clean Power Plan now.  WPHA members can provide written comments on the EPA’s proposal to repeal the Clean Power Plan until January 16, 2018. The proposal, Regulatory Impact Analysis and fact sheet are available by clicking here.  WPHA members can also send a message to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency urging Administrator Pruitt to maintain and fully implement the Clean Power Plan.
