2012 Public Health Nursing Conference

We invite you to submit an abstract to share your expertise and knowledge at the 2012 Public Health Nursing Conference. This invitation is for oral and/or poster presentations.      

This year’s theme is “Strengthening Public Health Nursing Community Connections.” Conference activities will provide public health nurses with information, skills, and resources to build community connections and continue to move the public health nursing profession into the 21st Century. The conference will also provide time for attendees to learn about and share information on critical public health issues.

Purpose statement: 
To strengthen the population health service delivery skills of the public health nursing workforce.
 
Conference Objectives: 
  • Recognize innovative strategies to prevent disease and promote health.
  • Identify two competencies necessary to strengthening population based public health nursing practice within the community. 
  • Describe two practice examples that demonstrate the use of public health interventions in successfully meeting local community health priorities. 
  • Identify two individual strategies to successfully negotiate changes in your public health nursing practice. 
 
Abstract Selections: 
Final selections will be based on the quality and clarity of the abstract, as well as relevance of the described content to the overall conference theme. 
 
Submission Deadline:
Abstracts must be submitted electronically by February 15, 2012. Late or manual submissions will not be reviewed.   Completed submission should be emailed to wpha@wpha.org
