Requirements of this Program

This program was designed to be self-directed and streamlined.  Much of the information in this site is based on best practices, and thus some minimum requirements have been set.  The following eligibility requirements must be met prior to a participation in the program:

Mentee

Currently working in public health and/or studying an advanced degree in public health and seeking to advance their career.

Has been working in public health for at least 5 years.

Provide a signed release to post mentor information to potential mentee or on website.

Provide at least 2 references that attest to the mentor’s ability to listen and provide knowledgeable guidance.

Please note that supervisors and employees should not embark on a mentor-mentee relationship.  There are inherent power differences and potential conflicts of interest in such a relationship.  Supervisors can mentor individuals in other organizations; employees can be mentored by individuals in another area of the organization or in another organization.
