WPHA President Muriel Nagle, MSN and member Jay Shrader, MHA from Security Health Plan testified before the Senate Agriculture, Small Business and Tourism Committee on Wednesday.  They presented WPHA’s support of the Healthy Jobs Act.  A number of other organizations also attended and testified in support of the bill.  Committee members asked a number of questions, and shared interest in the proposal.  A vote on the bill is expected by the committee in the near future.

The Wisconsin Public Health Association and Wisconsin Association of Local Health Departments and Boards today applauded Governor Scott Walker for including the Healthy Jobs Act, legislation to create a workplace wellness tax credit, in his special session on jobs. Both organizations also called on the Legislature to pass the measure with bi-partisan support.
