Conference Theme

This year’s theme is “Step Forward Together: The 2008 Public Health Partners Conference.” This theme highlights the need for ongoing attention to the public health system by strengthening partnerships among the unique network of individuals, agencies, and organizations that work to improve the health of the public. Conference activities will provide attendees with information, skills, and resources to help them improve public health in their communities. The conference will also provide time for attendees to learn and share information on critical public health issues.

Conference Objectives

  • Define public health as a system and your role within it.
  • Describe how local, state, and federal partners share responsibility for promoting and improving public health.
  • Identify leadership strategies that can be incorporated into your public health practice.
  • Create new linkages with colleagues and resources to enhance partnerships,
  • improve practice, and strengthen the public health system.
